The Islamic Solidarity Association is the official name of the organization founded in 1961 by Ayatollah Sheikh Muhammad Baqir Al-Naseri. It obtained official recognition in 1963 with the help of a number of intellectuals and benefactors in the province of Dhi Qar. The association was shut down by the former regime but resumed its activities with significant impact after 2003, re-registering itself officially. It was granted a civil society organization license by the Prime Minister’s Office. Following the expansion of its activities, the association gained official recognition as a “public benefit” organization through a vote by the Council of Ministers. This legal status allows it to carry out a variety of activities and obtain diverse rights and privileges.
The Islamic Solidarity Association has always been, and continues to be, committed to addressing cultural, scientific, and religious shortcomings within society, particularly in communities that have long suffered from such deficiencies. To this end, the association has consistently organized cultural and scientific seasons and established several institutions.
